What do you think about Memories

Thomas Fuller, a mental calculator once said; “Memory is the treasure house of the mind wherein the monuments thereof are kept and preserved.”

My Brother and I were having a conversation concerning past events, and how they affect us in one way or the other, and our conversation birthed our opinions on what we think about memory

Here's what he thinks:

"I think memories are bad. Yes! I think they're just thoughts of days we wish we could re-live.

Thoughts of moments we once lived, but can never live again.

Thoughts of the love we once felt, but can never feel again.

Thoughts of the people we once had, but can never see again.

Thoughts of a childhood we once had, but can never have again.

Thoughts of a good relationship we had, but can never have another as good. All these thoughts sound like torture to me.

I think our lives would be so much easier if we didn't have these so-called "Memories".

Here is what I think:

"Memories are great! Yes

I think memories are treasures.

Gem, pure and unique, the lies and honesty in each are priceless.

The joy and sorrow in them are morals/lessons.

The pain and pleasure in each are forces of nature; Invisible yet invincible.

Memories are powerful; they define who we truly are.

How strong or weak we are as a person.

How capable or incapable we are.

How kind or heartless we are.

Memories are a force of nature.

I think our whole lives would have been in a loop; with the same pattern and method there nothing will be different to learn from if 'memories' don't exist."

At the end of it all, we both came to an agreement and realization that:

Memories are Two-sided. They have the unique ability to be good and bad at the same time.

Memories are defined by the disposition of the person carrying them.

While we can't change our memories, our memories can change us

But we can define our memories.

Our memories are basically what we see them as.

Memories are things of the past and within each memory is the power to destroy or build a future.

So, what you spend your today doing will reflect on what you can refer to as a memory tomorrow; decisions you take, the friends you make, and the places you visit.

Beloved Friend and Reader, this is what I think about Memories, and I am curious to know what you think about memories.

Memories are beautiful. I think memories are God’s way of telling us “hey, you’ve been through worse, it gets better“.

memories are what we make them.

Memories truly are double-sided, all in all to help us improve to become the best versions of ourselves.

Well I think memories is a playback of life event that is always there that makes us feel what we felt at that particular moment when triggered but what I think in particular instead of creating memories why not create activities why not focus on the things not memories before adventure your mind and see things never seen read calculate

Wonderful Opinion🍻

But do you believe that those activities and 'things' eventually become memories afterward?

Yeah, I've head about Thomas Fuller, he is a African slave who was very good at maths. But you're very right " Memories define who we are". Nice
